These are two of the best Free spyware removers. I have been using both for four of five years.

This is very easy to install and easy to use. It removes cookies and some spyware that have made their way into your computers and are slowing down you machine. They are also sending out information about what you do on the Internet back to their source. They provide the source with information about what you like by monitoring the sites you visit. Those sources can then spam you with info they think you will find interesting. They will also run programs in the back ground slowing your computer some times to the point that you can’t open any other programs.
Ad-Aware is easy to use, but it also has some add-ons that can you can use once you are comfortable with Ad-aware. Remember to download the Ad-Aware Personal as this is the free program. You can always pay for the Ad-Aware Pro and get the full coverage from Lavasoft.
Go to the address above and download the program, then clsoe all your programs that are running and install. It wil take a few seconds. Run the program and follow the instructions on removing the files it has detected. Every so often go intothe quarantined files and delete the older ones.
Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3 - http://www.spybot.info/en/home/index.html
This program offers more that Ad-Aware but is a little more complicated to use. I run both programs every three days to make sure my system stays clean.
Spybot - Search & Destroy can detect and remove spyware of different kinds from your computer. Spyware is a relatively new kind of threat that common anti-virus applications do not yet cover. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you didn't intentionally install, if your browser crashes, or if you browser start page has changed without your knowing, you most probably have spyware. But even if you don't see anything, you may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging that is silently tracking your surfing behavior to create a marketing profile of you that will be sold to advertisement companies. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm in trying to see if something snooped into your computer, too :)
Spybot is run off donations so if you are like me and don’t like sending your credit card numbers over the Internet, they do have a mailing address posted so you can do it the old fashion way.
