The Luis Almaguer Family
Ok, this is my family's picture history. It covers most of our lives, but not all of it. We have hundreds of pictures and would never have enough memory on any server to put them on (unless I paid for it). I met my wife, Elfida Peņa, in 1977 while we were both at the University of Texas at El Paso. I had seen her around but did not get to know her until January of 1978 when she moved into Barry Hall, which was the same dorm I was staying in. We got married and moved to San Antonio, Texas. My dad helped me get a job with the same company he worked for. I started as a chainman making $3.15 an hour. Within three years I made crewchief and ran a three man survey crew. We lived next to my parents in a house they gave us. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. Living next door to my parents gave my two sons a great opportunity to get to know their grandparents. Maiko spent as much time around Mom and Dad as he could. Carlos would go next door and my Dad would sneak him M&M's. Both boys have a lot of respect for my parents. In 1988 I got hired by the Waco Police Department and moved away from San Antonio. My parents moved back to Eagle Pass. Here is our life in pictures. |

![]() Man, was I rough looking...We were at the Rio Grand fishing when Mane took this one. I always liked wearing my hair long. It was a constant argument with my parents. I always said that when I had kids they were going to be allowed to wear their hair long...DANG! Neither one of my sons likes to wear long hair!! |

![]() This is Michael. We always called him MAIKO. If you look at the pictures of our granddaughter you will see that she looks just like him. |

![]() This is me again. I wore a beard for 10 years. I had to shave it off when I joined Waco PD. Then after 11 years we got a new chief and he approved the wearing of facial hair. I am back to wearing a beard except now it is almost all gray. |

![]() Carlos' first trip to the coast was not a happy one. He did not like getting sand on his shoes. Mary Garza was his baby sitter. |
![]() This is one of our Christmas pictures. Vickrey and Assoc. always had a company Christmas dinner. After the dinner Mr. Vickrey would hand out the Christmas bonus. That was a great company to work for. We were always treated like a big family. |

![]() Here he is during his Michael Jackson/Terminator phase. He had long hair during this phase. He was the coolest kid in our neighborhood. |
