Last day of the Fanfare |
|
|
Well, Sunday finally came and we were back at the mercado to do some shopping. |

|
We stopped by Wilma's house and got to see her new dolls. Elfida and Wilma had a lot of catching up to do. They use to work together at the Thrift Store when we lived in San Antonio. |
This is me, Elfida, Mary, Wilma and Vanessa. |
This is Vanessa, Wilma's granddaughter. She is a great kid. She was almost ours. | |||

We decided to try some of the gorditas for lunch. Oh, they were good. Chicken gorditas!! |

| We made it back to the Mercado on Sunday and it was raining. The bands were getting ready to start all over again. It sure looked different from the night before. | |||||

| It looked like it might stop raining any minute and then it would start up again. The cool air felt good. A little rain never stopped a party in San Antonio. | |||||

|
Boy, it started to pour while we were there. We decided to go inside until the rain stopped. It smelled so good outside. All that food cooking. |

Elfida inside one of the shops. Anything from Mexico you want, you can find at the Market Square or "El Mercado". |

I took this picture from on top of the parking garage. We drove up there and were surprised that they wanted $5.00 for the parking fee. Then we remembered that the Tejano Fanfare was still going on. You can see that the hard core Tejano fans were already getting there. |

There I am! Elfida took the picture so people would believe that I was also there. That is the problem with being the photographer. You are never in the picture. |
